DeForest DECA students competed at the 2010 State DECA Career Development Conference March 9 –11. Over 1500 students from across the state descended on Lake Geneva to compete in events such as business services marketing, travel and tourism, retail marketing management, sports and entertainment marketing, etc. Competitors take two written tests, one on economics and the other specific to the occupational area of the event. Students also competed in two role play events, where they portray a given scenario, such as solving a problem, developing a promotional campaign, handling difficult customers, etc.
DeForest took home several individual and team awards, which qualified them for the the DECA International Competition in Louisville, Kentucky this April.
