Each year the Wisconsin Art Education Association (WAEA) sponsors a regional student art exhibit at Hilldale Shopping Center in Madison. This year the exhibit was on display until Sunday, March 1. Schools wishing to participate in the exhibit send ten pieces of artwork. On the last day of the exhibit, a group of judges select one piece of art from each school to be on display during the Wisconsin State Art Show at the State Capitol, March 6 – 19. The show celebrates Youth Art Month, highlighting the talents of young artists in Wisconsin.
A Yahara second grader received a blue ribbon for her Musicians collage. Windsor’s winning piece was done by a 4th grader. Both pieces were on display at the State Capitol, March 6-19. In addition, a third grader at Yahara had her Yarn Painting win a SAX Art Catalog award. She received a bag of art supplies.
