Students Re-enact 1930’s Soup Kitchen

Student receiving soup from Mrs. Shepherd-Wundrow

Students in Mrs. Shepherd-Wundrow’s sixth grade social studies class (Brewer Team) have been studying the people, music, historical events and culture of the 1930’s decade. Then on Wednesday, February 23 students simulated a soup kitchen to better understand the Great Depression and to get a feeling for the emotion of the times.  Students brought in soup, bread and crackers to help with this re-enactment.  All extra cans of soup were given to the DeForest Area Community & Senior Center.
