Two FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) students from DeForest Area High School were busy with competition in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, instead of spring break. On April 2 and 3 sophomore Anna Sausen placed fifth in Word Processing I and senior Megan Schultz placed first in Digital Design and Promotion. Sausen had to key business production problems as well as take a written exam on word processing concepts. Schultz developed a graphic design portfolio featuring a business logo on a topic that was given to her. She then incorporated the logo into other graphic documents. She presented her design to a panel to be judged on her designs and presentation.
FBLA is a national student business organization offered through the Business & Information Technology department at the high school. Students compete in various business topics at the regional level, qualify for state competition, and then the national competition. Megan Schultz will compete at the national leadership conference in San Antonio, TX this June.
