On March 9, the DeForest Area High School Forensics Team competed in the Badger Conference Tournament at Verona High School. Through hard work and preparation, the team came away with its third straight Conference title, extending their streak once again. Earning a total of 287 points, DeForest dominated the Conference, with the second place team, Waunakee, about 90 points behind. Out of over 150 entries in 16 categories, 28 were DeForest entries and all competitors placed near the top of their categories.
The team not only came away with a first place team trophy, but DAHS students also won multiple individual categories. The category champions include Brad Urban, Moments in History; Hunter Rauwolf, Farrago; Anna Brickeimer, Oratory; Megan Georgeson, Poetry; Nicole Stewart, Solo Acting Serious; Jocelyn Marks, Special Occasion; and Erica Vorpahl, Storytelling.
The DeForest Forensics team is excited to be competing in the State Festival at UW-Madison on April 19 and the State Tournament on April 20 at Ripon College where they will again compete for individual and team scores.
