On Saturday, April 27, nine DeForest Area High School students competed in DAWN’s (DeForest and Windsor Now) Constitutional Oratorical Contest. The student were asked to research and persent a memorized, twelve minute speech that defended the Framer’s original intent of a U.S. Constitutional Amendment.
1st place: Emily Nelson – $1,000
2nd place: Amy Sommers – $800
3rd place: Rachel Williams – $500
Members of DAWN (DeForest and Windsor Now) sponsored the contest.
English teacher Jan Williams coordinated the contest at the high school.
