DAHS Cooperative Education/Internship and Youth Apprenticeship programs involve high school seniors in learning experiences that combine school-and work based learning. Students have the opportunity to integrate instruction at school with training in area businesses.

Placement is based upon students’ career objectives, and their instructional
program is planned, coordinated, and supervised by a teacher-coordinator.

Internship opportunities at the high school include: marketing (retail, banking/finance, hotel/motel operations, travel, sales, personal services, and distribution), business (accounting, customer service, information systems, office assistant), agriculture (seed genetics, animal production, dairy production, small animal care, agricultural, mechanics, etc.), and family & consumer education (restaurants, day care, education, fashion, and interior design).

Students achieved the State of Wisconsin skills standards certification in several of these areas upon completion of the program.  Several students in the business and marketing management class also earned the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate.
