One nonperishable food item equals one guess at the weight of a giant pumpkin.  That was the name of the game at Windsor Elementary School last week during the student council’s three-day food drive for the DeForest Area Food Pantry.  The drive was sponsored by the Windsor Student Council as one of their community service projects.

Students filled over eight boxes with items to be delivered to the food pantry.  The more items brought in, the more chances they received to guess the weight of the pumpkin.

The person who guessed closest to the actual weight won the pumpkin.  The winner, fourth grader Mikayla Elias, was announced on Wednesday, October 30.  She guessed 65 lbs, 8 oz, and the actual weight was 68 lbs, 6 oz.
