High school students enjoy Christmas in Milwaukee Arts experience

DeForest Area High School Drama Club sent three students to Milwaukee on December 14 and 15 to participate in an all-state field trip in the arts. Chaperone, Jan Williams, and the students joined nearly 100 other Wisconsin high school students as they attended more than four different arts events representing different art forms: visual arts, dance, music and theater.

The students and their chaperones visited the nationally recognized Milwaukee Art Museum to satisfy their quest for the visual arts. The art forms of music and theater were well represented in the Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s A Christmas Carol and Noise’s Off. The Nutcracker Ballet rounded off this art-filled trip with an experience in dance.

Students had a chance to experience the arts on a professional level, meet other students in the state with interests in the arts, and even do a little Christmas shopping in their spare time. Participating students were: Lauren Fischer, Jordan Taylor, and Jocelyn Marks
