Last month the Windsor Elementary School (WES) Student Council sponsored “A Time for Giving” contest, whereby all WES students were challenged to work with their parents to the research needs of others during the holidays, and come up with a plan of how they could make the holiday season better for an individual or group.  Students wrote letters explaining what he/she would do with $25 to accomplish their plan.  At a school assembly on December 20, Student Council members awarded $25 to students in each grade to help carry out their plan for making someone’s holiday better.

Students also presented a check for $1,200 to a representative from the Dane County Humane Society.  Students raised the money and collected pet supplies through their Pennies and Presents for Pets fundraising project.

The events were organized by students in the Windsor Student Council, with help from educational assistants Kris Harbort and Chris Carlson.
