DeForest Area High School senior, Katherine Kennedy, has been selected from an initial pool of 102,600+ applicants as a Semifinalist in the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. “Katherine is one of nearly 2,200 Semifinalists chosen from across the country because of the outstanding leadership, academic achievements, and dedication to community services illustrated in Katherine’s initial application,” said Lauren O’Brien, Communications Manager for the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.
According to O’Brien, all Semifinalists were asked to submit additional candidacy materials by December 27, 2014. Once Semifinalists applications are reviewed, 250 Regional Finalists will be chosen to continue through the selection process. Notifications will be delivered in late January. Regional Finalists will then participate in interviews either in person or via web conference resulting in the selection of 150 Coca-Cola Scholars to receive a $20,000 scholarship.
