Wolf earns top honors at Newton Math Meet

Ferris Wolf, a 6th grade student at DeForest Area Middle School, took home honors at the Greater Dane Co. Network’s Newton Math Meet held in March.  According to teacher Tammy Breitlow, fifth and sixth grade students from DeForest competed against other students from Waunakee, Oregon, and Sauk.  Honors were given to those earning top individual scores, and teams with the top two scores advanced on to the next round.Newton Math Meet Ferris earned a second place trophy for individual score and the top individual score for DeForest.

The Greater Dane Co. Network hosts the math meet each year for students in fifth through eighth grades to stimulate interest in mathematics and recognize exceptional mathematical talent.
