Community Blood Drive October 12
National Honor Society students at DeForest Area High School, with the help of the American Red Cross, will be hosting their bi-annual blood drive on Wednesday, October 12 from 8 am until 2 pm. The event will take place in the high school’s North Gym. All members of the community are invited to donate.
To donate blood, a few requirements need to be met: donors are asked to bring a photo ID and their donor card (if you have one), eat a well-balanced breakfast and drink plenty of water. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
