Madison Jazz Society supports DAHS students

MJS-Logo_Web1Brandon Bautz, Band Director at DeForest Area High School, recently announced that the school will receive a $325 grant from the Madison Jazz Society to help finance students’ attendance at the Slinger Jazz Festival to be held on Saturday, January 9.

According to Bautz, during the Jazz Festival, students will receive a clinic from a jazz professional and master classes on each instrument. They will also have the opportunity to watch a professional jazz musician perform, participate in a question and answer session, and perform as a group at a concert.  The concert will be held at 7 pm at Slinger High School. The DeForest Area Music Boosters are matching the funds to help finance the trip.
