DeForest DECA hosted a haunted house on Saturday, October 24th, 2015 from 5-9 pm at DeForest Area High School to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. With over 30 amazing volunteers contributing a total of over 242 hours, the first annual haunted house was a success! The haunted house had 62 customers and raised $950 in profits for MDA.
Miranda Lenz, a 10th Graders at DAHS, had a positive experience with the haunted house. “Even though the haunted house was a lot of work it was more than worth it to see how it turned out,” she stated after the event. Junior Sydney Schaeffer agreed, saying that she had, “tons of fun helping set up and scaring people, and it looked like tons of fun going through it too.”
DECA members would like to extend a huge thank you to all of the wonderful sponsors who helped to make this experience possible: Alliant Energy, BB Jacks, Dairy Queen, James and Gala Gardiner with DōTERRA, Genesis, Gus’s Diner, JD’s Bakery, Mousehouse Cheesehaus and Yo Fresh. Make sure you check out the second annual DECA Haunted House around Halloween next year! Students will be working hard to raise the bar even higher next year – you’ll definitely want to experience it!
