Students at DeForest Area Middle School looking for something fun, different, or maybe challenging to do during their recess/activity time now have new opportunities in the library!
In November the two libraries at the school launched an new opportunity called “illuminate,” means to put focus on, or to spotlight. According to librarian Laura Shucha, library staff are spotlighting various fun activities every Wednesday during student activity time. Students may sign up each week between Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning outside each library’s doors.
Each month the activity theme changes. The activities started in November with a spotlight on tabletop games, including brand new board games, cards, and dice games. December spotlighted creative endeavors.
Shucha is pleased so far with the response of students. “Students are enjoying the time to relax, stretch their brain, and have fun!”
