DAHS Sophomore Pep Band members (L to R) Luke Walsvik, Bergen Fitzgerald, and Emilio Morales show off their newly released CD

For the first time in the history of the DeForest Area High School Band program, students in the Pep Band have released an album recording.  The album, which was produced by Legacy Productions, is titled “Locked Out of The Band Room.” It is a compilation of songs performed by the Pep Band at some of the home football and basketball games. It includes marching band versions of popular recordings from artists such as Bruno Mars, Neil Diamond, Chicago, Daft Punk, the White Stripes, and many more!

DAHS Pep Band CD cover“This was an excellent opportunity for students to create a product that they will look back on for the rest of their lives,” said Brandon Bautz, Director of Bands. “We had a four hour recording session in our band room and at the end of the day there was a lot of exhaustion, but a lot of pride. I am very proud of the work they have done. Thirty years from now when they are on iTunes downloading music, they will see the product they recorded, reminding them that they were professional recording artists at one point.”

The public can purchase the professional CD of 12 songs for $20 from Brandon Bautz at (608) 842-6822 or bbautz@deforestschools.org. Profits will go towards the cost of the band program’s next Orlando trip in spring of 2018.
