Door Creek Church – North Campus has been an active supporter of Eagle Point Elementary School the last couple of years. When asked what they could do to help support teachers, teachers overwhelmingly said, “Books!” Getting books in their classrooms and in the hands of children was their top priority. With a generous monetary donation from Door Creek, students were able to choose books at the end of the school year to enjoy over summer break. Then, in July, Door Creek held a book drive. New and/or gently used books were donated to Eagle Point School for the teachers to add to their classroom libraries. Pastor Ross Kaellner and Rob McCartney delivered the books in August, and when teachers returned to school, they were thrilled that they got to “book shop” in the LMC. They were very grateful for the opportunity.
In addition to the book delivery, boxes of school supplies were also dropped off. Paper, folders, pencils, markers, scissors, etc. were awaiting families as they entered Eagle Point on Backpack Night. Teachers also filled their back-up cupboards with supplies they will need later in the year.
