Middle school hosts Scoopie Night for PBIS

staffDeForest Area Middle School hosted their annual fall Scoopie Night at Culvers Restaurant in DeForest on Tuesday, October 4th, raising nearly $600 for the school.  The funds will be used to purchase student incentives as part of the school’s Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program.  All schools in the DeForest Area School District have been implementing PBIS since the 2012-2013 school year, focusing on  student behavior with the premise that “Norskies are safe, respectful, and responsible”.

The organizer of the event, 7th grade English teacher Laura Kruschek, thanked the educators who volunteered their time to serve food and clean tables during the evening.  They included:  Laura Salopek, Ann Higgins. Aimee Koppensteiner, Bill Black, Jessi Garrison, Travis Frey, Dana Broehl, Liza Hahn, Brea Skora, Julie Bernards, Tamara Weisbrod, Tammi Jansen, Sue Winckler, Becki Brethouwer, Tracy Biodrowski, Joe Packal, Molly Koslowski, Jen Brandl, Jen Parker, and Laura Shucha.
