Dobson receives DAR Good Citizens Award

dobson-codyDeForest Area High School senior Cody Dobson has been voted by his classmates to receive the DAR Good Citizens Award.

The DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest, created in 1934, is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship.

According to the DAR website, this award recognizes and rewards individuals who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities.   One high school senior per school is selected by their teachers and peers because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree.

Cody will now pursue the DAR national scholarship contest, which if awarded, will provide him financial aid towards his degree in Archaeology at UW-LaCrosse next fall.  Cody plans to continue his studies at UW-Madison to earn his doctorate.
