DAHS students perform in Honors Band

Six honor band studentsSix DAHS students participated in the Badger Conference Honors Band on November 14 & 15.

The guest clinician this year was Dr. Craig Hancock, who is the Director of Bands at Warburg College in Iowa. Students spent the the two days in rehearsals with Dr. Hancock, and performed at 7 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Monona Grove High School.
According to DAHS Band Director, Brandon Bautz, “The Honors Band is a combination of exceptional students from all schools in the Badger Conference.” There were four pieces performed on the concert, said Bautz, including Bayou Breakdown, Rough Riders, Southern Hymn, and Vesuvius. Other schools that participated were Baraboo, Edgewood, Fort Atkinson, Milton, Monona Grove, Monroe, Mount Horeb, Portage, Reedsburg, Sauk Prairie, Stoughton, Verona, and Waunakee.
The DeForest Area High School students who participated were Erika Perkins on Flute, Sidney Bergeron on Clarinet, Erica Camarato on Clarinet, Sarah Stouffer-Lerch on Trumpet, Samuel Neuman on Tuba, and Anthony Haag on Percussion.
