On Monday, March 6th, Eagle Point, in conjunction with the Madison Reading Project, hosted Family Literacy Night. Local author, Pat Zietlow Miller was the guest speaker. Students listened to her read her first picture book, Sophie’s Squash, and then listened to Mrs. Miller discuss all the ins and outs of being an author.
“Students were surprised and excited to hear all of the connections between what she does as an author and what they do every day in writing workshop!” said Eagle Point Reading Specialist, Sharon Ganster.
According to Ganster, students also made their own bookmarks. At the end of the evening, students were able to take home books that were donated by The Madison Reading Project. Door Creek Church served as volunteers to assist students with the activities and to help with cleanup. Ganster thanked everyone who made the night a success!
