Student’s Haiku chosen for publication

unnamed (6).jpgCongratulations to 4th grader Isabella Potter, whose Haiku has been chosen for publication in the Greater Dane County Haiku Project. Isabella is a 4th grade student in Laura Bussie’s class at Yahara Elementary School.

According to the Project’s website, “The idea behind the Greater Dane County Haiku Project is for teachers and students to have some serious fun. Serious writing skills are involved, but the context (a three-line poem) is fun.”

The Haiku Project is part of the Dane County Advanced Learners Network. A panel of judges determined winners from the submitted entries in February.  A booklet containing winning Haikus will be published and distributed to student winners and their school.  Isabelle and her family will also join other Dane County winners at a celebration in April to honor their work.
