Local business people, parents/guardians, and community members: DASD invites you to consider supporting Junior Achievement (JA) for our students. The mission of JA is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy by teaching them about work readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. As a non-profit, JA needs both financial support and volunteers willing to share their time and talent to help give students the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success.
Last year JA served over 40 DeForest classrooms. Several business volunteers are needed to implement the program for over 800 of our students.
Check out the listing of the available classes that need to be filled for this spring. Openings are available for grades 2, 3, and 4. (There will be many additional class volunteers needed for the fall in grades 2-4 & 7.) JA will provide the classroom materials and conduct a brief training session to get you ready to be successful in the classroom.
Junior Achievement classes are funded by donations from local businesses, foundations, and individuals. The cost to bring Junior Achievement to one student is $25. If interested in supporting the program, please visit the online donation website: Support Junior Achievement in DeForest.
