Kim Bannigan awarded 2018 ISTE “Making IT Happen” award

kim banniganDASD Learning Information Systems Coordinator Kimberly Bannigan, has been awarded the 2018 International Society in Education (ISTE) “Making IT Happen” award given in partnership with the Wisconsin Educational Multimedia and Technology Association (WEMTA).

WEMTA is the premiere educational technology state organization and they seek out staff that truly “Make IT Happen” for and with their district and beyond on a daily basis.

The criteria for the award includes:

  • demonstrates a love of learning

  • teaches through relationships – inspiring, encouraging and nurturing

  • realizes that teacher empowerment is the key element to technology integration

  • motivates through awareness and access to information

  • recognizes that further change is necessary, but understand that it is a process

  • utilizes social media to share resources, foster relationships, and provide leadership

  • recognized as a leader in her educational community and beyond

As a recipient of this award, Bannigan will receive:

  • ISTE Making IT Happen certificate and pin

  • ISTE Making IT Happen award jacket

  • One-year membership to ISTE

  • Letter to Superintendent and/or Supervisor

  • District and Community recognition

  • WEMTA conference registration and membership for one year

Bannigan will be honored at the upcoming WEMTA conference, which will be held March 25-27 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.
