Students in the Techniques of Food Preparation class at DeForest Area High School recently spent a week learning about dairy as an ingredient, as well as dairy as an industry.
They participated in milk fat experiments and heard from teachers as guest speakers from the DAHS Agriculture Department. At the end of the week, students participated in a Mac N Cheese Battle. According to Techniques of Food Preparation teacher Bethany Buenning, “Students chose their own recipe and prepared the meal themselves, and were then judged by high school staff. ”
