Students demonstrate learning with puppet show

Dave Sisler’s fourth-grade class at Windsor Elementary School (WES) recently presented a puppet show to their fellow students. Students in the class each crafted their own puppets and the class had several mini shows to practice performance aspects such as improvisation and play writing.

For the final show, WES first-graders were invited to watch skits about things they’d learned in the school’s SEL (Social & Emotional Learning) curriculum.  Some of the themes were: listening attentively, joining in, managing anxiety, and handling being bullied. Students added plenty of humor, drama, and problem solving to make it great show!  Middle school principal Roy Bernards and Windsor principal Valerie Crowl even took up puppets to help introduce the show.
